Y-E Data to Deliver Wireless USB Products powered by Wisair’s 542 Chipset

Wireless USB Hub and PCI Express Card based on 542 to be demonstrated at CES

SAITAMA, Japan and CAMPBELL, Calif., January 4, 2006 - Y-E Data Ltd., part of the Yaskawa Electric Group (est. 1915), and Wisair, a leading provider of Ultra Wideband (UWB) and Wireless USB chipset solutions, today announced that Y-E Data will be bringing to market a new Wireless USB hub and PCI Express Mini Card, featuring Wisair's Wireless USB 542 chipset, based on Certified Wireless USB.

The Wireless USB PCI Express Mini Card is designed to be inserted into notebook PCs with compatible PCI Express card slots, enabling wireless connectivity with multiple USB devices within a room and without the need for USB cables. The Wireless USB hub provides four USB ports and includes features such as dual internal antennas inside a slim enclosure and incorporates unique PHY capabilities, developed by Wisair, for extended coverage and link robustness.

Prior to this, the two companies collaborated on a first-generation UWB hub that was shipped to the Japanese market late last year. "Based on our experience working with Wisair, we have confidence in our ability to deliver robust products that meet the requirements of leading brand manufacturers in Japan," said Mr. M. Nishino, general manager, Multimedia Product Division at Y-E Data.

"We are pleased to continue our close collaboration with Y-E Data, and will work closely with them toward an early 2007 release, following the CES demo," said David Yaish, CEO at Wisair.

Wisair will be presenting at CES at booth #13544, located in the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center, as well as in meeting room #35163, located in South Hall #4.
