ZTE Router Login (Simple Guide for Any Model)

ZTE is a widely used brand for wireless routers and modems. They are known as the perfect device for your home WiFi network. You can also customize your router by simply logging in to the admin page. The admin page (also known as the admin panel) is the control center from where you can tweak the default router configurations.

There are many things you can do through the admin panel like changing the WiFi name and password, setting up parental controls, viewing usage data, and many more things. In this simple guide, I will explain all the important steps required to log in to the ZTE router admin page.

Step-1: Connect the Device to the ZTE Router

Firstly, you have to connect your device (Windows or Mac PC/Android or iOS device) to the ZTE router via ethernet cable or WiFi.  I’d recommend using a wired connection as it will be more stable and secure, while the WiFi connection might pose some issues.

Once connected, check if you are able to browse the web. Open a browser and visit any website like YouTube, Facebook, etc to know the status. If you can’t, try restarting the router.

Step-2: Find the Default Gateway IP of your Router

Once you are connected, the next thing is knowing the default gateway IP of your router. It is the IP address assigned by the manufacturers that allow you to access the admin page. ZTE routers two public IP addresses as their default gateway IP. One is 192.168.0.1, and the other is192.168.1.1.

If you have a ZTE router, 98 out of 100 times, your device will be having either of the following IP. If you still want to be sure, just turn on your Windows PC, head over to Command Prompt, and run the ipconfig command.

Step-3: Open the Router Login page and Sign in

Once you have the default gateway IP, open a web browser, enter it in the URL bar and click on the search icon. Alternatively, you can also visit this link (for 192.168.0.1) or this one (192.168.1.1). You can use any web browser like Chrome, Safari, Edge, etc for this.

Wait for the ZTE router login page to open. Once it does, enter the router username and password in the given blank boxes. If you don’t know these, try entering the default username- admin, and default password-admin (both in lower case).

After that, click on the ‘Login’ button, and you’ll be able to get into the admin interface (given that you entered the correct router credentials).

A lot of people keep using the default router credentials as they don’t both changing them, and some of them don’t even know that it is different than the WiFi name and password.

How to Reset any ZTE Router?

If you are not able to log in to the admin page even with the correct default username and password, then you should consider the router to factory defaults. This will allow you to log in using default credentials but you’ll have to go through the setup procedure once again.

To reset your ZTE router, find the ‘Reset’ button present inside a hole at the back panel (between the WPS & WLAN buttons), press and hold it for around 30 seconds using a pointed object like a needle, toothpick, etc. Once the power LED blinks, release the reset button, and let the router reboot.

Once the router reboots, you can log in to the admin page using the default username and password to set things up. If you don’t understand something, you can seek help from YouTube guides to set up your router.

Final Take

ZTE routers are very popular for their impressive performance and tight security. To make them even more efficient, you can log in to the admin page and customize the configurations according to your needs. You can do a lot of things like setting up parental controls, changing encryption settings, changing channels, or changing the WiFi name and password. This is how you can do that.

That’s all for this post. I hope you have learned everything you wanted to about ZTE Router login through this guide. If you still have any queries or questions, feel free to use the comment box. I’ll be glad to respond.
